New Life Christian Center Ministries operates on three distinctive levels:
1. Authority, Order & Discipline
2. Tithing and Giving
We utilize the type of church government found in the Holy Scriptures in the 1st chapter of I Timothy, giving the respect to and functioning under the authority of the Pastor Gift. The ministry willingly submits itself to the governing rules and regulations of Christian Service Center Ministries, Inc. The tithes and offerings of the people provide for the needs and outreaches of the ministry.
The Bible is the mind of Christ. (II Tim. 3:16-17)
The Bible is the first and final authority in our lives.
There is one God manifested in three personalities. (Matt. 3:16-17)
Reality of Satan and his control over unregenerate man. (John 10:10, II Cor. 4:4)
Salvation brings deliverance, soundness, and preservation. (Luke 1:69-71)
Pastor Robert Porter, Sr. attended River of Life
Bible Training Center and graduated with a certificate of completion after 2 years. While in school he joined the Usher board and became 2nd in command to the head usher & security. After sitting
under the teachings of Apostle Bennett and Dr. Jean Donnell, Pastors of River of Life Christian Center for eight years, God called Pastor Porter out to start his own ministry. With the blessings of
his Pastors, he sought God for his new covering.
Pastor Porter then aligned himself with Christian Service Center Ministries as his overseer. He was ordained in December 2001 by the late Bishop Howard Wallace at River Rock Apostolic Faith Church in Elkton, Maryland. Pastor Porter assisted his Bishop by performing administrative duties and being his armor bearer.
After the death of Bishop Wallace, Pastor Porter consecrated himself for 90 days. After being led by the spirit of God; he and his wife, Sharon, went to Darrow, Louisiana to meet their present spiritual father Dr. Leroy Thompson, Sr. Today, New Life Christian Center Ministries is under the covering of Dr. Leroy Thompson, Sr. of Word of Life Christian Center and is a member of the Leroy Thompson Ministerial Association (LTMA).
Pastor Porter resides in Baltimore County Maryland with his wife and Rev. Sharon. They have been happily married for 22 years and have two sons Robert Jr. and Phillip, a daughter in law, Jessica and grandson, Donell.
Rev. Sharon Porter is a minister, psalmist, wife and mother of two young men, Robert Jr. and Phillip. She is the Co-Pastor of New Life Christian
Center Ministries in Edgewood, Maryland. She also teaches with simplicity and clarity for the hearer to easily apply the word to their daily lives.
Victoriously overcoming molestation at an early age, to now being a flourishing Minister preaching the word of God, Sharon is humbled and honored to be a servant of God's people. She started out as an intercessor in 1985 while attending the Living Word Christian Center in Baltimore City, under the leadership of Pastor David Brown.
In 1995 she became a member of River of Life Christian Center under the leadership of Pastor Bennett and Dr. Jean Donnell. There she joined the Ministry of helps as an intercessor. After a few years Pastor Sharon attended the River of Life Bible school and received a certificate of completion. In 2001, she departed from River of life to assist her husband in beginning their own ministry.
She was ordained in December 2001 at The River Rock Apostolic Faith Church in Elkton Maryland by the late Bishop Howard Wallace of Christian Service Center Ministries. After a 90-day consecration and the leading of the Holy Spirit, Pastor Sharon joined her husband in Darrow, Louisiana to meet with Dr Leroy Thompson. The Porters current spiritual covering is Dr. Leroy Thompson of Living Word Christian Center.
Pastor Sharon along with her husband, headed the Edgewood Pastors and Intercessors Group that had been called and anointed to strategically pray for Edgewood and to do spiritual mapping from October 2007 to October 2008. She was a member of the Edgewood Community Council and the Co-Chairperson for the "Clean Up Crime Abatement" committee that served the community through a once a month "Clean Up" effort as well as being one of the Harford County coordinators for the "Cry Out America" prayer gathering that is held on 9/11 in front of the County Court House.
